Interactive Web Workflow Enactor & Manager v0.7.0alpha

iwwe&mLogo

A very useful web application for those who have to execute Taverna workflows (several computational processes coordinated by a data flow) to extract a biological answer. If you want to give it a go, click on the following

Dictionary of Cancer Terms v. 1.1

page13_blog_entry42_1
English and Spanish dictionaries containing important cancer research terms.

What is new?
  1. Updated the English and Spanish versions of the Dictionary of Cancer Terms. This update has been made by the NCI.
  2. Added the pronunciation field that some of the online Dictionary of Cancer Terms records include.
  3. Corrected some typos found in the Spanish version. This correction has been made by me. If you want to see the modifications introduced, please download the following PDF file (44 KB).

Dictionary of Cancer Terms v. 1.0

English and Spanish dictionaries containing more than 5,500 important cancer research terms.

ProteinGlimpse v.1.5

ProteinGlimpse displaying hemoglobin
ProteinGlimpse 1.5 is a Tiger and Leopard compatible free widget for visualizing macromolecules retrieved from the RCSB Protein Data Bank

New features:

  1. Leopard compatible
  2. Jmol 11.4.2 applet included

cNucleotides v. 1.0

cNucleotidesLogo
cNucleotides depicts, for a gene, the percentage of each nucleotide type in a pie chart fashion.

Use the export option to get extra data - as the gene sequence, the total number of nucleotides, the partial count for each nucleotide type, and the gene name - in a tabulated way.

It is a simple widget built to run on CARGO.

I will be fully functional in a couple of days. I hope... ;)

ARRAYLEXPRESS v.1.0

arraylexpressLogo

ARRAYLEXPRESS (Microarray experiments linked with ArrayExpress database) is a widget for CARGO that connects between a gene and microarray-experiment IDs found in the ArrayExpress database. This widget uses a couple of ENFIN web services, [PICR (Protein Identificator Cross Reference) and ArrayExpress] to extract the information.

Note: due to the currently limited programmatic access to the ArrayExpress data warehouse, the functionality of this service is restriced to the retrieval of microarray experiment IDs until the new ArrayExpress version 2.0 is released and further data access allows the extension of this service.

REACT2me v.1.0

react2meLogo320
REACT2me is a widget for CARGO that finds pathways from the Reactome database.
On entering a gene Ensembl identifier, the widget tries to map it to proteins found in Uniprot and get, for each one, all available pathways from the Reactome database.
REACT2me uses two ENFIN web services "in a row" [PICR (Protein Identificator Cross Reference) and Reactome] to obtain the required information.Más información...

EasternKegg v1.1

widget
A new release for this widget ready to run on CARGO.

New features

1. Excel export option added
2. Better error and cache management

EasternKegg v.1.1 as shown on CARGO.

EasternKegg

I am glad to introduce a new a widget designed for CARGO called EasternKegg v. 1.0.
easternkeggLogo
The aim of this mini-application is to help experimental biologists to get all known pathways found in KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) where a gene is involved.

I hope it will be available on our production server at CNIO soon.

CARGO 2

CARGO is updated! Try CARGO 2 a biomedical dashboard created by the Structural Biology and Biocomputing Group at the Spanish National Cancer Research Center.

There is a huge quantity of information generated in Life Sciences, and it is dispersed in many databases and repositories. Despite the broad availability of the information, there is a great demand for methods that are able to look for, gather and display distributed data in a standardized and friendly way.

CARGO (Cancer And Related Genes Online) is a configurable biological web portal designed as a tool to facilitate, integrate and visualize results from Internet resources, independently of their native format or access method. Through the use of small agents, called widgets, supported by a Rich Internet Application (RIA) paradigm based on AJAX, CARGO provides pieces of minimal, relevant and descriptive biological information. The tool is designed to be used by experimental biologists with no training in bioinformatics. In the current state, the system presents a list of human cancer genes.Más información...
